The diploma course is designed for those who which to progress to making jewellery on a professional basis using silver precious metal clay. The course also includes designing and finishing techniques.

Although there are criteria that you have to follow within this jewellery making Diploma course, you are able to incorporate your own design ideas.

The course consists of 4 levels. On completion of each level a certificate will be issued to confirm that the course has been completed and the required level of competence has been achieved.

Each level can be completed consecutively or one day at a time over a period of time to fit in to your requirements.
Please note: this course is designed so that each project can be finished during the workshop. Should, for any reason, extra time be needed to complete a project this can be arranged.

Although all levels must be completed to obtain the Jewellery Making Diploma (WDJ Dip), on achieving each level you will gain a certificate of achievement.

Level 1 - See More Details (2 days - Introduction to PMC workshop needed*) £198 less 10% discount if  both workshops booked at same time

During the level 1 you will make at least 1 pendant, 2 pairs of earrings and 2 decorative links, plus using fine silver wire and decorative stones.

The projects within this level also include torch firing and kiln firing.

Attainment : Level 1 - Certificate of Achievement

 

Level 2 - See More Details (4 days - Level 1 certificate needed) £396 less 10% discount if all Level 2 workshops booked at same time

During the level 2 you will make at least one pendant, one brooch, 2 pair of earrings, 2 bead caps and 1 ring, plus using silver wire and decorative stones.

The projects within this level encompass design techniques.

Attainment : Level 2- Certificate of Achievement

 

Level 3 - See More Details(4 days - Level 1 and 2 certificates needed) £396 less 10% discount if all Level 3 workshops booked at same time

During level 3 you will make at least 1 bail, 2 clasp ends, 2 pendants and 1 ring, plus using silver wire, incorporating a cabochon and enamelling.

The projects within this level encompass using design techniques.

Attainment : Level 3- Certificate of Achievement

 

Level 4 - See More Details(4 days - level 1, 2 and 3 certificates needed.) £396 less 10% discount if all Level 4 workshops booked at same time

During level 4 you will make at least 2 pendants and a bracelet, incorporating using PMC clay to a create heat sensitive-stone setting, plus adding gold, photographing your jewellery for promotional purposes, and basic selling/promotion techniques.

The projects within this level encompass using design techniques.

Attainment : Level 4 - WDJ Diploma

*Please note: once you have done the 'Introduction to PMC' workshop (before Jan 2010 known as 'PMC for Beginners' workshop) you can continue your experience in PMC with this diploma course.

If you have done one of our 'specialised' workshops these will be credited towards achieving the relevant level 2.
If you have done the 'Jewellery Photography for Beginners' workshop you will get a credit towards level 4.
