Level 1 - Precious Metal Clay for Beginners (2 days - no previous experience necessary)

This level starts with the basics then continues with handling the clay, using slip and incorporating silver wire into PMC clay.

Workshop 1. Starting with handling & designing with the clay, texturing, setting a faceted fire-resistant stone, drying, firing, and polishing your finished items. You will make a pendant, a pair of earrings, plus an organic leaf pendant.

Workshop 2. This final workshop in Level 1 includes using clay and fine silver findings. You will make two sets of earrings and a ring. (If you do not want to make earrings you can make four charms). You will learn how to use a ring mandrel and to allow for shrinkage.

The projects within this level also include torch firing and kiln firing. All the techniques in this level will give a good foundation needed for the other levels.

*Using slip to create a leaf pendant
